About Chez

PICT3393
My friends call me Chez.

Others say: “Chezz”, “Chess”, or “Chaise”.

No matter how you pronounce it I am a young reader, writer, and thinker, with a passion for books, music and ideas.

Originally, I grew up on a chicken farm in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. In my three decades on this earth I have lived in Vancouver, travelled Europe, and worked in Australia.

In 2003 I received a bachelor of arts, majoring in Sociology, from the University of British Columbia. In September, 2010, I will be commencing the Master of Publishing program at Simon Fraser University.

I have worked in the publishing industry, as en editor and writer, since 2006. From 2006-09, I was a committee member at Catchfire Press. Today, I contribute to Reverb magazine, a music magazine based in Australia.

I also co-host a weekly radio show, called the Chez and Stallion Show.

My personal philosophy is this: “You have nobody to impress but yourself.”

And that’s about all you need to know about me, for now…

Chez

Stoked that you are in the band, wondering why you haven’t been to a single rehearsal since we started playing?

Also I want to thank you for getting our actual drummer upset as to why he got ‘fired’ as he put it. Nice website, for anyone else reading this out there, Chez is the man. He is a very talented writer, read his stories, they will make you laugh an want more!!

Imran

p.s. Chez….who are you? I don’t know why you mentioned our band and saying that you are in it? By the way, do you have a screwdriver? I need one to fix my car. Let me know, thanks.

Chez, thank you for a great Waves n Work meeting: two favourite Paris Review interviews: Robert Gottlieb and Gary Snyder

Hey! Thanks for the meeting. I had a lot of fun, and was very happy discussing poetry, ebooks and old authors. I’ll either email you my Paris Review / Video Game Mag mock up, or post it here. But will do so soon.
